Tyeshia Alston is a 32 year old native of Dallas, Texas, and an activist for HIV/AIDS. In 2005 at the age of 25, Alston was diagnosed with HIV and she has been on a mission since 2006 to educate people (especially our youth) about HIV/AIDS. Alston has been to Washington, DC speaking to our legislators about this devastating disease and how it is impacting our communities as well as requesting better health care for people who have tested positive for HIV/AIDS. Alston has been a guest on the “Rickey Smiley Morning Show”, the “Live Life” talk show with Duncanville High School. Alston has been on panels for National Minority AIDS Council and other local organizations. Last but not least she speaks in local churches, public schools, parole offices; Alston says “she will go anywhere where people will listen.” |
