The Crossroads is a guide that teaches church leaders on how to bridge HIV/AIDS and Faith in a spirit of excellence.
The goal of this program is to:
1. Help church leaders to understand HIV/AIDS
2. Help church leaders to understand how important their support is in reaching all people, even those living with HIV/AIDS
3. Help churches to implement HIV/AIDS awareness program as a ministry in their church
Teen Girl’s Program
The “My life is Precious” Program is inspiring young girls (13 to 19) to be empowered with leadership skills that will enhance their future contributions to society as well as their local community. These girls do not have to be HIV positive to participate in this program. However, they do have to have a desire for change to take place to help those who are most impacted by any negative situation.
These girls will learn how to advocate for others, how to budget and prepare for the workforce system. If you are interested in joining this program please register online by clicking here.
Wellness Center
In 2010, youth made up 17% of the US population, but accounted for an estimated 26% (12,200) of all new HIV infections (47,500) in the United States. An estimated 9,961 youth were diagnosed with HIV infection in the United States in 2013, representing 21% of an estimated 47,352 people diagnosed during that year. Eighty-one percent (8,053) of these diagnoses occurred in those aged 20 to 24, the highest number of HIV diagnoses of any age group. At the end of 2012, there were an estimated 62,400 youth living with HIV in the United States. Of these, 32,000 were living with undiagnosed HIV infection.
